Memorial Day 2008

Last week Pastor McGinnis, along with Ashland First Assembly of God Church began its Memorial Day weekend service with the presentation of the flag by Mallory Cegler, a member of the Ashland WI National Guard. Mallory is not alone in her family when it comes to serving her country as she has a brother Jordan, also a National Guardsman who has served in Iraq. Pastor McGinnis took time in the morning service to pay respect to, and honor all who have given their lives during the course of serving this great nation. In a moving message, Pastor McGinnis borrowed some thoughts from President Lincoln’s  Gettysburg Address, as well as from Lincoln’s National Day of Fasting, Prayer, and Humiliation from the Civil War era and applied those thoughts to today’s national need for prayer and repentance. Prayers for emotional healing were also offered up for families who have lost someone in the course of serving America.
Along with Mallory Cegler are Pastor McGinnis and his wife Barbara.
